Brazilian coffee
Brazil stands as the largest coffee producer globally, responsible for one-third of the world’s total coffee production. This has led many coffee enthusiasts to believe that Brazil’s emphasis on quantity makes producers forget about quality. We disagree. Kamba imports coffees from producers that might previously not have had access to the specialty export markets and shine a light on amazing quality coffees that exist across Brazil.

Framework of partners and exporters at Origin
Our sourcing strategy in Brazil is in collaboration with FMR Café, run by twin brothers Felipe and Fernando Ribeiro.
Fernando is spearheading the specialty segment of FMR, actively sourcing micro-lots from remote farms scattered across Brazil. Primarily situated in the mountainous region of Mogiana, these farms are perched at an elevation of 1,000 meters above sea level. Leveraging unique micro-climates, these specialty farms meticulously craft distinct flavors and characteristics in their coffees. Additionally, FMR is in the process of pursuing Rainforest Alliance Certification for their farms, a step aimed at providing producers with a higher income.
The company’s headquarters is located in Espírito Santo do Pinhal, São Paulo state, with an additional office in Varginha, Minas Gerais.
Much more than another coffee importer
We collaborate with Expocaccer, a cooperative within the Cerrado Mineiro, to curate exclusive micro-lots sourced from producers with whom we’ve established enduring relationships. Among these producers is Fernando Beloni, from Fazenda Horizontina.
In 2021, Beloni was the first coffee producer in the world to receive the Regenagri® Regenerative Agriculture Certification – an international regenerative agriculture program that aims to ensure the health of the land and the care of those who live on it.
The advantages of regenerative agriculture are many, including: reduction in the use of chemical inputs, increasing improvement of soil quality, production of better quality coffee, reduction of production costs, balance of the biome and reduction of carbon emissions.
We’re proud to work with Fernando and Expocaccer as they continue to push the boundaries of specialty coffee.
