Producer: José Eduardo Bernardes

In 1983, José Eduardo Bernardes returned from Belo Horizonte to assist his father in managing the family’s business. Recognizing the potential of the Cerrado region for coffee cultivation, he strategically shifted his focus. With meticulous planning, he initiated the cultivation of seedlings in 1984, abstaining from planting the following year to refine his approach.

He emphasizes the region's favourable climate during harvest season, its elevated altitude, and the modernization of both management practices and machinery as crucial factors in achieving high-quality coffee. Continual investments and research drive the family's pursuit of excellence, with a commitment to developing new processing methods to meet the evolving demands of consumers.

José Eduardo takes immense pride and satisfaction in being part of a cooperative and collaborative community. He views the region's collective efforts and shared projects as akin to a large family, where the exchange of experiences plays a pivotal role in elevating the region to its current stature.
